Insulated thermos, cups, bottles

By Cyndy Harrington

If you are of my generation and you know if you are if you remember the old Stanley Lunch boxes.Kind of industrial looking, not cute or fancy, but if you kept it, I bet it is still in one piece.Their motto is “Build for Life”.Doug and I have had one of their thermoses for over 10 years. We bought it because of the name brand and its reputation for being the best. The best what?Keeping beverages and food at the temperature you want.Fill a Stanley with ice tea at 8am and I bet you’ll still have ice tea at 4pm.Put chili in one before you go skiing and at lunch time it will still be hot.

Since our son is in the outdoor business we’ve recently had an opportunity to look, feel, and try some of their other products.I’m pretty happy to report that they are coming out with several innovative ideas in new product designs that are keeping up with the times. They still have their “Stanley Green” and have added several new colors that really brightens up the product line.I also like the fact that they offer replacements parts for several of their products.

I like that Stanley is a product for every generation. They’ve been around since 1913; their products last; have lifetime guarantees and they are updating the look and feel for the outdoor crowd of today.Check out their “Nineteen 13” product line where several new mugs are made from recycled material and are recyclable themselves.

Usage tip:Stanley bottles are steel insulated (not glass) so they won’t break. If you need to keep your food items hotter for longer periods of time, put boiling water in the container for about 5 minutes, empty and add your food or drink.Foods/drinks can stay hot up to 24 hours.

Find Stanley Products at backcountry.com

Flask

I’m all about the stuff.Travel stuff, computer stuff, bags to put stuff in, etc.

I found this Stanley flask and thought it might be a perfect addition to our camping gear.We like to sit by the campfire and I love my Captain Morgan. This 8oz stainless steel walled flask is perfect for a weekend trip.It doesn’t take up much space and because of the steel inner walls whatever you put in it does not pick up any other flavors as can sometimes happen with plastic.I love the “foolproof” mouth/cap design and you can unscrew it and there is a lanyard device that keeps the cap attached. You don’t ever have to worry about dropping or losing the cap!!!

Thermos (aka Vacuum Bottle)

There is a wide variety of thermos bottles! When I look at all the products I have to admit that I have to stop and think how I’m going to use each one. This one is great for ice tea, and this wide mouth is perfect for chili.Oh wait – we may want this larger one for hot chocolate to share around the campfire. What I’m trying to get at is I think Stanley has products for every need.Of course you know that the Stanley has always been the best container for hot coffee all day long on the job sitehttp://www.backcountry.com/store/search.html?mv_session_id=QVPsX93w&q=stanley.
